General
Procedures and Regulations
Safety – If your family owns
a firearm that is not always locked up or kept out of reach of
children, you must make sure it is safely out of reach in a
room that the children will not be allowed to go in when a
MOMS Club function meets in your home.
Behavior – Unfortunately,
children do not always get along with each other. If your
child is hitting, pushing, or biting, please make an effort to
control that behavior. The board members and activity group
hostesses reserve the right to ask a mother and child to leave
if the child has exhibited this behavior more than twice
during that event. Also, a hostess may ask a mother to leave
if the child is damaging property.
Health – To keep our MOMS
Club as healthy as possible, please do not bring your child if
any of the following apply: fever, diarrhea, vomiting or any
other serious illness or rash within the past 24 hours. The
board members of the MOMS Club reserve the right to ask a
mother with a sick child to leave a meeting or function. If
the child is experiencing any symptoms due to teething or
allergies, he/she is welcome to come.
Weather – In the event of
inclement weather, the MOMS Club of Ashburn Village Area will
follow the Loudoun County School System when canceling
functions. If school has been closed due to weather, MOMS Club
functions for that day will also be cancelled or postponed. If
there is a 1 or 2-hour delay, all MOMS Club activities will be
continued as planned. Please use your own discretion for
attending activities.
Other Children – We’ve been
asked before if it’s OK for members to bring children other
than their own to MOMS Club functions. The answer is yes, with
one small requirement: The club needs to have a liability
release and medical waiver signed by the child’s parents on
file. If you are planning to bring a child other than your own
to a function, please see one of the board members to get a
form for the child’s parents to sign.
Roster – The MOMS Club of
Ashburn Village Area membership roster is for the benefit of
the members in our chapter. This roster will be distributed
only to paid members of this club and at no time should
anyone’s personal information be distributed to non-members.
The phone number of the current Membership Vice President can
be given out to a prospective member, although it is preferred
that the Membership VP call the prospective members directly.
The roster may only be used for
club business and may not be used for personal business,
political, or religious purposes. If any member receives phone
calls for any purpose other than for MOMS Club business, they
are asked to report it to an executive board member.
**Note** This does not include
personal relationships with other members, or if a member has
specifically expressed an interest in a home-based business,
religious, or political activity. If you are no longer
interested in receiving this information, please contact that
person directly.
Playgroup Rules
- Members are encouraged to join the playgroup that
corresponds to the year their child was born. If there is
a conflict and a member wishes to join another playgroup,
please contact the playgroup coordinator.
- A mom may choose to attend more than one playgroup. If
she does, she is responsible for hosting in each playgroup
she joins.
- Your playgroup coordinator is responsible for creating
the hosting schedule. Members of the playgroup will take
turns hosting. If you do not take your turn as host, you
may forfeit your place in the playgroup.
- You can host in your home or, during nice weather, in
an outdoor location.
- If you cannot host the date you are scheduled, then it
is your responsibility to notify the playgroup coordinator
and make other arrangements. You may also be required to
notify the rest of the playgroup of these new
arrangements.
- You are not obligated to attend each playgroup. If you
cannot attend, please contact the hosting mom to let her
know that you will not be attending.
- Only members of the MOMS Club may attend a playgroup
(for liability concerns). If you would like for a friend
to attend a playgroup, she must become a member before
attending. If she would like to become a member at
playgroup, a board member should be contacted to make
arrangements.
- You may bring children of friends who are not members
of the club to a playgroup. However, you must first have
their parent/guardian complete a release form and have it
on file with the club. You must also notify the hosting
mom.
- Unfortunately, children do not always get along with
each other. If your child is hitting, pushing, or biting,
please make an effort to control that behavior. The
playgroup coordinator and playgroup hostesses reserve the
right to ask a mother and child to leave if the child has
exhibited this behavior more than twice during that
meeting. Also, a hostess may ask a mother to leave if the
child is damaging property.
- Please do not bring your child to playgroup if your
child has any of the following symptoms: fever, diarrhea,
vomiting or any other serious rash or illness within the
past 24 hours. If the child is experiencing symptoms due
to teething or allergies, he/she is welcome to come.
- All mothers are responsible for parenting their own
children during the playgroup.
